“This Diamond Ring” is a 1965 LP by Gary Lewis & The Playboys. It sold quite well due to the title track, which was a #1 hit right in the midst of the British Invasion. My opinion:While mostly covers, this album is one of the best early Gary Lewis albums. The covers are well chosen, and although Gary didn’t have the greatest voice, his singing is likeable. The track chosen is an original, “Go To Him”, which not suprisingly sounds a lot like “Run To Him” by Bobby Vee. Bobby and Gary both had the same producer (Snuff Garrett).
